This is a tough watch, and the Christmas/end-of-year holiday party setting makes it particularly painful. Especially since there are children at the event, to boot.
This is not a story about happy holidays.
These deaths also move Dexter from antihero territory to straight-up villain. Which is as it should be.
But the original is still the most iconic and my personal favorite.
Mike Flanagan is a recovering Catholic like myself, and it is scathingly clear in this phenomenal miniseries that also serves as a treatise on addiction, grief, and the futility of forgiveness.
